Really blooming exciting. For those of you that don’t know already I write the food column for Company magazine. I get to write a barometer on what’s going in and out in food; put my views across on food politics and write a piece on whatever’s seasonal, sometimes popping the odd recipe in too. I love it!
Excitingly the BBC caught wind of what’s been going on in my life, particularly the column side of it and they asked me to talk about my views on woman in food on the radio last night. They were dubbing me the next big thing in food and one to watch last night. This all feels quite mental, but really, really exciting.
Anyway, for those who haven’t seen it yet here’s my very first column from the August Issue of Company mag. The September one is out now.

So it’s been a fairly hectic few months for me. And boy how things have gone completely nuts. Back in March
I was rather unexpectedly crowned Britain’s sexiest chef in the annual Kitchen Crumpet Awards (in association with Kitchen devils). This came as a bit of a shock as when you’re being put up against the likes of Nigella – Hello, how hot is she? - And Gordon, Jamie and James Martin who are so, so popular, you can imagine how completely flabbergasted I was. I just want to say a mammoth thank you to everyone who voted for me and how grateful I am now to have been put well and truly on the culinary map.

So this got the ball rolling and since then I have been on one hell of an exciting journey. I am now working with the National Trust to show you guys how easy it is to grow veggies in your window boxes. I was a bit nervous to begin with as I have attempted to grow things before. Herbs that get so big, but then wilt and die or tomatoes that do really well but then get covered in spiders and I get too scared to eat them.
It took an hour to plant these little seedlings into window boxes and I am now the proud owner of some

radishes, beetroots, courgettes, tomatoes, new potatoes, cabbages, lettuces, rainbow chard, spinach and ton of herbs. I can’t tell you how exciting it is to everyday wake up and see how much everything has grown. The radishes have been harvested already and I can’t even begin to explain how delicious they were. They tasted, cleaner, more peppery and more pink! (If that makes any kind of sense.) I am so excited about what I am going to cook and will post some recipes when I have decided. For now you will just have to make do with some shots of some of my wares.
